China - Day 90, Monday

We had a very busy weekend.

Friday night is Basketball clinic from 7:40 - 9:10 (I know - it is an odd time!) We left early because a former Alstom colleague of Randy's, Dennis Silver, was is China for business so we met up with him. We went to Kerry Parkside for drinks. Daniel was so bored that he fell asleep!

On Saturday Randy went with Dennis for a massage. He told me it was a sacrifice, but he was willing to do it for Dennis! After the massage they went on a tour of Shanghai. They went to Yu Garden (I posted pictures of that way back in August), to the Bund (also posted pictures of that back in August), and French Concession (will post pictures sometime in the future of this area).

Saturday night we went to the Superbrand Mall. This mall, it fits its name. There are stores like Burberry, Dior, Tiffany, etc. Very expensive mall. The Ritz Carlton is attached to this mall to give you an idea how expensive it is!

We had dinner at the Ritz Carlton. The restaurant is on the 52 floor. When we arrived it was cloudy, but half way through our meal it cleared up and the view was spectacular. The restaurant over looks the Huangpu river, which runs through Shanghai. At night all the buildings are lit up and there are tour boats on the river that are lit up as well.

Daniel had his normal pasta for dinner, but he said the sauce was the best he ever had - it was even better then his chocolate cake - and that is saying something! It was a great view, delicious meal and wonderful company!

Not a great picture, but a great view from the 52nd floor overlooking the
Huangpu river, the Bund and the Financial District. The boats all lit
up were very pretty.

I think I need a better camera that can handle the night shots!

International Pearl Building, called that because it looks like
 pearls!

On Sunday, we had church in the morning. I finally got a picture of the church!

The view of the Altar at our church. I missed getting the crucifix in the picture.

Daniel had soccer in the afternoon.

Then at 3pm Daniel had a birthday party for his friend, Kevin. It was held at Adventureland at Kerry Parkside. It is a big indoor playground similar to those at home.

One of the slides at Adventureland

This slide is almost straight drop to get onto the
slide

This slide is a straight drop. The worker helps those
kids that are a little afraid at first. After the first
time, Daniel was going down by himself.
