China - Day 6, Sunday

Today is Sunday. We have not yet found a Catholic Church to attend. I am very sad that I can not attend Mass today. Thank God Fr. Dan gave us a prayer to say for these times.

We have discovered that everything is open on Sundays, including the banks. We had to head back to the grocery store yet again today. This time I was determined to buy some meats and produce so that we can actually eat meals at home. While we were looking at what we thought was hamburg (remember everything is written in Chinese), we spotted a Westerner. So we asked if he spoke English, which he did. We asked if our package was hamburger, but it was actually ground pork, so he pointed us to the ground beef. I think this will happen a lot. Some things I will just have to buy it and try it. For instance, Amy wanted some apple juice. We found a bottle that said "Apple Juice Vinegar". It looked like apple juice and it was in the juice section, but when she tried it it did have a vinegar taste. That was poured down the drain!

Randy's boss, Chis, came by the apartment then we walked over to the area where the grocery store is. We ate dinner at an Italian Restaurant. It was delicious.

Tomorrow I want to walk around our Apartment complex and take pictures. Will post them tomorrow night (or Monday morning for you!)

Hope everything is well were you are. Please let us know what is happening there.
