China - Day 2 - Pictures of our Apartment

August 4, 2011
This is looking in from the front door.

This is the coat and shoe rack that you can see
from the front door. All the furniture is the rich
Cherry wood that you see Chinese furniture
made out of.

Amy and Daniel sitting in the Living Room.
Couch and chairs are wood with thin cushions.
We will probably have to look for some thicker pillows, etc
to sit on it comfortably for long periods.
Although might be good to force us to not sit and watch TV too long!

Looking at the Living Room back towards the front door.

Our balcony. Needs a little sprucing up to be able
to sit out here. Randy is already planning
his plants and flowers!

View from the balcony. This is part of the apartment
complex. Our building looks like the ones you see.
We are on the 4th floor.

Another view from the balcony.

Our Dining Room

Another view of the Dining Room. That's a piano in the back.
Too bad no one plays!

Looking into the kitchen from the Dining Room

Kitchen sink and counter. For those of you who know how
much I like my coffee, please note that the largest coffee
pot I could get was a 4 cup maker (on the counter). That's
what happens when you come to country who drinks tea!

My stove and oven. There are 3 burners and the oven is very small.I tried reheating some pizza from the other night. Not sure about the settings (all in Chinese), I almost burned them in less than 10 minutes.Apparently 250 here is very hot. This will be interesting.

THIS IS THE REFRIGERATOR!

The top and middle sections are the fridge. The bottom
is the freezer. Please note how little you can fit. The milk
is the quart size in the door. I don't think I could fit anything
larger! Give you an idea how small this is. Take a look
at the pizza box on the top shelf. That is a small pizza box. On
top of that is a Hydro lettuce container. That's about all
that fits! No major grocery trips for us.

Looking out of the kitchen into the dining and
living area.

This is my wash room. Please note that
there is no dryer, also note that this is
a very small washer. I am not sure if 2 pairs of
jeans can fit at the same time. Oh and it only has
cold water! Can you say gray whites!

This is looking from the kitchen towards the laundry room.

Heater that is part of the laundry room.

Not a great picture, but this is looking from the laundry
room out into a storage area.

This is the storage area.

This is the guest room, currently occupied by Amy.
We have plenty of openings if you want to book
your vacation now!

This is a cool rack in Amy's room. It has hooks to
hang stuff.

This is the bed and the closet.

This is the closet. In the picture it looks really
red, but it is the rich Cherry color.

This is our only storage closet. The other storage
area is for things you do not care if they get
filthy. Because everything in that room is covered
in smoot (is that how it's spelled?)

Looking down the hall way from the Living/Dining/
Kitchen area towards Daniels' bedroom (to the right),
our bedroom (to the left)
and the Office (straight ahead).

Daniel's Room

Dnaiel's bed and Closet. Although this one you can not
hang anything. Did you see his Harry Potter Decoration!

This is the view from Daniel's room. You can't really
see it well but that's part of the playground.
It has tire swing zip lines,
playscapes, etc.

This is another view looking at more of the playground.

Another view showing more of the complex.
Daniel is on the opposite side of the balcony.

This is the study/office where I am writing
this blog from.

The cabinets in the office. Again, not as red as they
show up in the picture,

Our bedroom.

Our bed

Love this little arrangment. Not sure if I will ever sit in
them, but they are really cute.

Looking from the corner near the window, back towards the
room. I also love my vanity! Never had one before.

Looking back towards our closets.

What one of the closets look like on the inside.

Our bathroom. Can't see it in the pictures, but the mirrors,
in both bathrooms, go all the way to the ceiling. What a
pain in the neck to clean! The white thing on the wall behind the toilet is a heater (not a towel rack like Amy thought!)

Another view. We have both tub and a shower.

This is the main bathroom. Still working on cleaning this one.
