China - Day 2, Wednesday

August 3, 2011

Today Randy had to go on a business trip. Even though we just arrived last night and he has had very little sleep. He had to catch a taxi for 7am. I am not happy to be left on our first day here, but we will manage. Mrs. Gan is still here.

Today I woke up around 5 and decided to get a jump on cleaning. The apartment is not too bad (except the floors are filthy). But I still need to have eveything cleaned before I can unpack anything. Daniel woke up really early also, so I decided to start in his room.

The apartment has beautiful cherry wood, high gloss, oriental style furniture. In everyroom I had to polish inside and out of the funiture, clean the floors, etc. There is so much carvings it takes a while to clean eah piece of furniture. But its worth it.

After I finished Daniel's Room, I had him start unpacking his stuff and put it away. Then I moved onto out room so I could put our stuff away. Amy cleaned her room.

Before we could finish, Mrs Gan arrived so that we could go shopping again. Back to Carrfour. Needed to get a blowdryer, pots and pans, and food. Will talk about the food on another day!

Mrs. Gan had to catch a plane back to Beijieng, so then I went to work on the kitchen. Could defiantly use some Comet or Bon Ami Confused

Since the kitchen is not set up yet, we managed to find a knife and ate peanut butter and fluff (which were in the suitcases!) for dinner. I hope to complete the cleaning and setup tomorrow. We will be heading back to Carrfour tomorrow. This time we will be on our own to get there and back!
