Yesterday, after I was unable to find the Meet and Greet, I emailed and texted the 2 women who organized the event explaining why I was not there. Tracy called me back and felt very badly. We talked for a while and she volunteered to pick us up today and take us to the Metro Mart and show us around. Metro Mart is sort of like Costco. The difference is that many things you can not buy in large quantities. A lot of the items are cheaper here. I was able to find Clorox bleach, sos pads, Pine Sol. I am a happy camper!
After Tracy showed us some places to buy video games, movies for under $1. She took us to lunch at the Blue Frog. They had very good Western Food. Then she showed me where we need to catch the bus for Tuesday's school Orientation. Tracy was unbelievably helpful. My head is spinning with all the information she gave me.
Got our first bills in today. I think they are for the electric and the phone but since it is all in Chinese, I will have to find someone to read them to me! I guess I really need to open a bank account here. All these little things that I have to figure out are so time consuming. I feel at the end of the day I have not accomplished anything!
Randy should be home tonight finally. I hope he can stay in town longer than 2 days! We shall see.
