China - Day 29, Wednesday

When Randy read my daily title of this blog he said it sounded like a hostage situation! I am just keeping track of how long we have been here. Daniel is counting down the days until we return home for good. That may change as he gets more settled.

I know I have mentioned my laundry woes before, but I am a little frustrated again today with it. When I do our sheets, it is the only laundry I can do that day because I have no where to put additional laundry for drying plus it takes all day to dry. So anyway, I washed our sheets yesterday. When I started folding them this morning, I noticed that the edges where dirty. I then realized that the edges must have dragged on the ground a little. AHHHH, it means I needs to rewash them. I can not rewash today because I have other laundry. Now I need to make sure that I wash the balcony floor before I hang (actually drape) my sheets. Does anyone know how much I hate housework - and now I'm washing the balcony floor!!! Boy I can't wait until we fully settle in (financially), I am so looking for an Aye (housekeeper)!

This is how I have to hang my laundry. The blue hangers came with the rack. The round thing has little clothes pins attached and I hang socks, etc.

This is how I have to hang my sheets. I am a little nervous to have it anywhere near the ground now, even though I did wash the floor. As you can see there is no room for anything else. Today I do not have the pillowcases, because they were actually clean and didn't need to be rewashed.

We have been invited to attend one of Randy's employees wedding. We received the invitation yesterday. Very different - see the pictures. I guess it is customary here to invite your boss - whether you like them or not I presume! We will attend on Sept 11. She actually asked if we mind the date - I thought that was thoughtful of her. I hope our shipment gets here soon. I did not bring a dress, I shipped them all. I hope I do not have to go shopping, because they really do not have clothes for a person my size.

Cultural Differences/Frustrations 101: As I am sitting here typing this blog, I started to hear music. So I go to the window to see if I can figure out where it is coming from. Across the way I can hear the Chinese music and see a group of people, about 20, dancing. It is an exercise class. It is very cool to watch! Maybe I'll join - yeah right - looks to choreographed!
